A Poem: Dear COVID-19

Dear Covid-19 you’ve taken more from us than we could ever believe.

We’ve shut our doors as an act of love, but yet you say this isn’t enough.

Pints have stopped pouring and our cities don’t bustle. But we will get through this with all of our muscle.

Dear Covid-19 why can’t our children play together? The Earth has blessed us with the most inviting weather,

So dear Mr Covid-19 you may have won for now, but we will beat you and show you how…

How resilient and beautiful human kind can be, and how defiant we stand, just watch us you’ll see.

So pack up you bags, you haven’t got long left it’s time we put you to the test.

The test of patience, endurance, brilliance and time. So Covid-19 you’ll be left behind.

Thank you for showing us the strength that can be, I bet you’ve never met a nemesis quite like me.
